Exhibition stall working drawings, explained
Working drawings are the sized drawings a fabricator builds the stall from: plan, elevations, sections, dimensions and materials. In India they typically cost about ₹2,000 for a 3×3 m stall, on top of the design.
What a working drawing set includes
- Floor plan with every element placed and dimensioned.
- Elevations of each open face, with heights.
- Sections through walls, counters and platforms.
- Material and finish list — board, laminate, paint, vinyl, glass.
- Graphics list with print sizes.
- Electrical layout — lights, power points, load.
Why they matter
A render shows what the client approves. Working drawings decide what the workshop builds. If the two don't match, the stall on possession day won't match the render — and the client notices.
In India, most custom stalls are built in wood by carpenters, so drawings should use real board sizes and joinery, not cladding details meant for other build systems.
Typical cost
| Stall | India | Abroad |
|---|---|---|
| Small stall (3×3 m) | About ₹2,000 | About $60 |
| Larger stalls | Quoted per project | Quoted per project |
