## Summary

Boothlane by EaseMyExpo is a browser-based 3D exhibition booth design tool for trade show exhibitors. Users build a booth in a real-time 3D editor using exhibition-specific inputs — footprint, open sides, construction system, fascia, materials, furniture, lighting and graphics — then generate a photorealistic render of that booth in under 60 seconds.

The result is a presentation-ready concept a team can pitch a client, hand to a fabricator, or walk through live on a phone. No CAD software, no 3D modelling skill, and no rendering software required.

It targets the slow, expensive, skill-heavy workflow of traditional booth design — a process normally measured in days and handled by a designer with specialist software. Boothlane compresses it into a single working session.

Boothlane is a product of EaseMyExpo (founded 2022), an Indian exhibition and fabrication company based in Bengaluru.

## How It Works

An 11-step guided flow. Every choice updates the 3D scene immediately, so the user sees the booth take shape as they work.

1. **Company & dimensions** — company name, industry, exhibition name, event type, venue type, logo upload
2. **Stall construction system** — Octonorm, Maxima, Bematrix, Aluvision, or a custom modular frame
3. **Fascia design** — around 40 ready-made fascia designs, or a custom fascia drawn by hand
4. **Structure & materials** — wall finish, flooring, ceiling, pillars, raised floors, ramps
5. **Floating signs** — 16 suspended signage shapes, placed by drag
6. **Additional rooms & shelves** — storage, meeting room, pantry, wall shelving
7. **Branding & graphics** — vinyl, backlit, fabric and flex graphics; display panels and stands
8. **Furniture** — seating, sofas, tables, reception counters, display units
9. **Decor & lighting** — mannequins, plants, nine spotlight types, LED strips, extras
10. **Colours** — primary, secondary, wall, floor, fascia, ceiling and pillar, with per-surface control
11. **Finish** — review the stall and generate the render

### Booth Footprint

- Width 2–40 m, depth 2–30 m, height 2–8 m, fascia band height 0.15 m to structural maximum
- Unit preference: feet and inches (default) or metres and centimetres
- Live computed floor area
- Open-side configuration, matching standard venue plot types:
  - 1 side open — **Inline**
  - 2 sides open — **Corner** (left or right open)
  - 3 sides open — **Peninsula**
  - 4 sides open — **Island** (no walls)

### Creative Direction

- Free-text description of the booth the user has in mind
- A separate "Specific Ideas & Features" field
- Style selection — Modern, Minimalistic, Futuristic, Retro, Industrial, Luxury (up to two; conflicting pairs are blocked)
- Reference image upload

**Output scope:** 3D files are exported as visual mesh formats — `.obj`, `.fbx`, and `.glb`/`.usdz` for AR. There is no DXF, STEP, IGES or IFC output, because those are technical drawing formats produced as part of a fabricator's engineering process rather than from a concept design. Boothlane is built for concept development, visualisation and pitching.

**3D model import** — customers can bring their own models into the booth. 13 formats are supported, converted automatically: GLB, glTF, FBX, OBJ, DAE, STL, PLY, 3DS, 3MF, AMF, USDZ, WRL and VRML.

## Sharing

Two kinds of public link. Neither requires the recipient to log in.

- **Interactive 3D link** (`/view/:shareId`) — opens a full live 3D booth in the recipient's browser. They can orbit and inspect it, screenshot it, record a 360° video, or "Edit a Copy" to branch the design.
- **Image gallery link** (`/share/:shareId`) — opens the generated renders for browsing, download and onward sharing.
- **Branded short link** (`/s/:code`) — a compact link that resolves to the underlying design.

The share dialog targets WhatsApp, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and email — the channels exhibitors and agencies actually use to circulate work.

Credit-based pay-per-design. No seat licence, no annual contract, no subscription required.

**Free:** 5 starter credits on signup, granted on email signup, Google OAuth signup, or Google profile completion.

**One-time trial add-on:** ₹12 for 3 credits (including GST). Available once per eligible account, after signup.

## Accounts and History

- **Authentication:** email and password with 6-digit OTP verification, or Google OAuth. Password reset by emailed code.
- **Design history** (`/my-history`): every generation and correction is logged and grouped into batches, with per-account totals for generations, corrections and credits spent. Batches can be deleted.
- **Saved stalls** (`/my-stalls`): named, reusable 3D booth configurations with thumbnail previews. Can be renamed, duplicated, deleted, or reopened in the editor. No limit.

## Boothlane Designathon 2026

A public design competition run on the product itself.

- **Prize pool: ₹1,78,000 across three stalls** — 1st ₹1,00,000, 2nd ₹49,000, 3rd ₹29,000
- Open to anyone aged 18 or over, students and working professionals; solo entry or teams of up to three
- Entries must be shared publicly with `@easemyexpo` and `#BoothlaneDesignathon`
- EaseMyExpo employees and their immediate family are not eligible
- Registrations 25 September to 12 October 2026. Submissions close 19 October 2026 at 23:59 IST. Jury review 20–25 October. Winners announced 27 October 2026.

## Alternatives

Boothlane is a purpose-built alternative to two categories of tooling:

**General-purpose 3D and CAD software** such as AutoCAD, SketchUp and Blender — Boothlane requires no 3D or CAD skill and produces a photorealistic render in under 60 seconds, rather than requiring a specialist to model by hand. CAD tools remain the right choice for production fabrication drawings.

**Generic AI image generators** such as Midjourney and DALL·E — these produce 2D images with no knowledge of exhibition dimensions, plot types or construction systems, and output nothing spatial or interactive. Boothlane works from a real 3D model built to real dimensions, and returns a model alongside the image.
